Keep a pitcher of water in the refrigerator instead of running the tap for cold drinks, so that every drop goes down you not the drain.

Use a layer of organic mulch around plants to reduce evaporation and save hundreds of gallons of water a year.

Welcome to www.SavingH2O.org, an educational site dedicated to teaching youth about the importance of conserving water in and around the home.

To address these concerns, four underground water conservation districts in West Texas collaborated to develop an education outreach cooperative. Programs and learning activities are offered to school districts, civic organizations, public libraries, and youth groups.

Each water conservation district within the education cooperative sponsors an art contest for fourth and fifth grade students. Winning artwork is featured in a calendar published by each district and offered free to the public.
